Queen and King Mate (Box Technique)
The most common basic checkmate: the queen restricts the lone king to a shrinking box while your own king walks in to support the final mate.
Key ideas
• Never let the queen get too close to the enemy king alone — it can cause stalemate or let the king escape.
• Bring your own king up to support the queen before delivering the final check.
• The mating move only works because the king defends the queen's square, so the enemy king cannot capture it.
