Tap a piece, then tap a highlighted square to move it.
Skewer Along the File
Like a pin in reverse: the more valuable piece is in front and forced to move, exposing the less valuable piece behind it to capture.
Key ideas
• Line up your queen or rook so it attacks through a valuable piece (often the king) to a less valuable one behind it.
• A check forces the front piece to move immediately — that's what makes a skewer so effective.
• Always check the rank, file, or diagonal behind the king before delivering a check — there may be a bigger prize.
